Mission
Care Campaign is a local project that aims to provide service to assisted living facilities and nursing homes in Livonia and Novi, Michigan. The project's main objectives include creating and distributing personalized packages to provide healthy cognitive and physical stimulation to seniors, as well as offering interactive, direct interaction activities and educational workshops at homes we provide assistance to. This project also strives to educate others on the importance of supporting and giving back to the elderly through quality care and assistance.

Background
Understaffed conditions, a lack of resources and funding, a lack of meaningful activities and interaction for seniors, and even neglect are all key problems contributing to the issue of a downturn in quality care at assisted living facilities and nursing homes throughout the United States. Addressing this fundamental issue of healthcare disparity for the elderly is essential for our generation to experience high-quality care once we ultimately age ourselves. Our future is theirs, and the first step is improving access to funding and resources!
Saanvi Uppar created this project from her experience working at an assisted living facility for two years at Manoogian Manor Assisted Living in Livonia, Michigan, becoming increasingly involved in the direct care and assistant coordination of meaningful activities for seniors at the home. Her experience has ultimately led her to understand and expose herself to the harsh realities of living as a senior in many of these facilities, where residents often are left to stare at walls or with schedules filled with meaningless busywork.

Donations are primarily used to purchase items and resources for seniors and staff members within facilities across Livonia and Novi (arts supplies, storybooks, musical instruments, memory aids and games, sensory mood lighting, puzzles, etc.). These donations are also occasionally used on residents in need of medical and financial assistance to support themselves and their families.
